Troubleshooting my 510/EGO/T-Rex battery
Troubleshooting techniques for you 510 and EGO batteries.
Ensure battery is not locked (EGO & T-Rex Models): Both the EGO and T-Rex batteries have a 5 click to lock/unlock feature. This allows you to lock them if you are going to put them your pocket or purse,or anywhere they could accident lay go off. We generally ship our batteries locked to prevent them from begin discharged during the shipping, so the first thing to do is just click the battery five times and see if your battery is locked. If it is locked, it will blink 5 times to let you know its unlocked.
Clean the Threads: Take rubbing alcohol, clear vodka, or even warm water and a Q-Tip and gently clean the threads, twisting the Q-tip around the threads of your battery as well as the threads of your charger. Sometimes e-liquid can get gunked up in your battery or charger and cause it to lose its connection to your charger. Once the threads are cleaned, dry them with some paper towel, and let them sit for a few hours.
Try a new outlet On occasion, a USB port can be faulty, or not product enough power to properly charge your battery. Just pop the charger into a new USB port. Also test the unit with both the AC adapter and a computer USB port.
Try a new atomizer/cartomizer/clearomizer: Often times when customers think their battery is not working, it is actually not the battery but the accessory they are using. Make sure you test your battery with several accessories before assuming it is the battery that is faulty.
Pry out center Pin (Manual models only): If you have tried everything else, you can attempt to gently pry out the center pin of the battery. Inside of your battery there is a a metal circle. If you gently pry this circle up, it may allow it to connect to the atomizer and resolve the issue. Sometimes this can get pushed down, especially if you over-tighten your e-cigarette, causing an issue with the connection of the battery and/or charger.
The battery flashes for several reasons. IT will flash to verify it is connected to the charger, it will flash when the power is too low, it flashes when you lock and unlock it (EGO and T-Rex models) and it will flash when there is a problem with the connection between the charger/battery or the atomizer/battery. If it flashes only when connected to an accessory, please swap out that accessory and try it with a different one, as it is likely your atomizer/cartomizer/clearomizer and not the battery that is at fault.
